The blog [tumblr.com profile] fuckyeaharthuriana features many aspects of Arthurian legends and Arthurian adaptations. The associated WordPress blog keeps resources and masterlists. These blogs are a great resource for anything Arthurian.

In particular, they've assembled links to many Arthurian texts, from the 6th through the 16th century, available for free download. It is available on the WordPress blog or on Tumblr.

I searched LibriVox, a site with free audiobooks of public domain books, for major Arthurian texts. I based my search terms off the Wikipedia page for the Matter of Britain, as well as the Bibliography of King Arthur. I cannot personally vouch for all of these, but I have listened to the History of the Kings of Britain, the Lays of Marie de France, and all three of the works by Chrétien de Troyes. (The Lays of Marie de France are my personal favorite, so far.) If you speak any languages besides English, you may want to search the site yourself to see if there are any Arthurian audiobooks read in that language, since I focused on English-language works or translations.

Happy International Fanworks Day! The theme for 2023 is When Fandoms Collide, and in honor of that, I've assembled a list of some of my favorite gen BBC Merlin crossover fics.

You can see this list as an AO3 collection at https://archiveofourown.org/collections/gen_BBC_Merlin_crossovers.

Crossover Fandom: White Collar (TV 2009)
Link to fanwork: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37656775
Title: historical significance
Author: Yevynaea
Ship: Gen, Merlin & Morgana friendship
Warnings: None
Words: 1,042
My thoughts: This features both White Collar-style crime shenanigans and shapeshifting genderfluid characters. It's a joy to read (and reread).

Crossover Fandom: Supernatural
Link to fanwork: https://archiveofourown.org/works/377065
Title: Here's to Destiny
Author: vulcanscully
Ship: Gen, Arthur Pendragon & Dean Winchester friendship
Warnings: None
Words: 1,489
My thoughts: Given the role that the concept of destiny played in both Merlin and Supernatural, this is a fascinating combination.

Crossover Fandom: Torchwood
Link to fanfic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/3251411
Link to podfic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/18380336
Title: His Majesty’s Flight Guard
Author: Linorien
Podfic Narrator: mistbornhero
Ship: Gen, Merlin & Jack Harkness friendship
Warnings: None
Words: 1,616
My thoughts: This is a fun little one-shot which imagines an immortal Merlin and Jack Harkness interacting with each other as friends during World War II. I find the podfic to be a delightful listen, and often return to it.

Crossover Fandom: Good Omens (TV and book)
Link to fanwork: https://archiveofourown.org/works/19448380
Title: Somewhere in Between
Author: PhantomWriter
Ship: Aziraphale & Merlin friendship, Aziraphale/Crowley implied or pre-relationship (but subtle enough that I still consider this story gen)
Warnings: None
Words: 4,300
My thoughts: Aziraphale's excitement at meeting Merlin is such a lovely concept, and I can't help but adore the way the premise of "a crossover character walks into Aziraphale's bookshop" was applied here.

Crossover Fandom: The Librarians (TV 2014)
Link to fanwork: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36084097
Title: And The Bearer Of Virtue
Author: Buckhunter
Ship: Gen, Eve Baird & Jenkins friendship
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Words: 4,974
Other info: Night at the Museum is also listed as a fandom, but I think it's only a few references, which I did not catch.
My thoughts: It's impressive on its own to believably combine Merlin characters with Arthurian characters from The Librarians. This story does it with care. It takes place mostly in the Library, with flashbacks to Camelot. It covers a bit about Galahad's place in Camelot and his relationship with his father.

Crossover Fandom: Doctor Who (2005)
Link to fanwork: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40061319/
Title: Dust and Diamonds
Author: HarmonyOfTheSpheres
Ship: Gen, Merlin & Arthur friendship, Tenth Doctor & Donna Noble friendship
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings; I would warn for temporary character death, minor character death, and canon-typical violence, as well as noting that this is a rewrite of Doctor Who s04e10 Midnight, which is a bit of an unsettling episode.
Words: 34,197
Other info: A rewrite of Doctor Who s04e10 "Midnight," where Jethro Cane (who was played by Colin Morgan) is actually an immortal Merlin, and Arthur is on the planet Midnight as well.
My thoughts: The dynamic between the Doctor and Merlin is really interesting here, but I thought the fic really shined with its portrayals of Donna and Arthur. I loved seeing how their skills and problem-solving abilities got to be put to use here. There are also some interesting notes on Merlin's immortality, his relationship with magic in a wider universe than just Earth, and his relationship with time given his canon powers of slowing time.

Crossover Fandom: Harry Potter
Link to fanwork: https://archiveofourown.org/works/22405891/
Title: The Immortal and the Revenant
Author: RileyWilliamsJr
Ship: Gen
Warnings: None
Words: 153,326
Other info: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix AU where Merlin shows up and generally derails things.
My thoughts: The characterization of an immortal Merlin here was really well done. He's absurdly powerful, impossibly cheerful, and retains his sense of humor, but the sadness and loss he has experienced is not dismissed.

That's all for now. I may update the AO3 collection in the future if I find more works that fit. Enjoy!
